| I hope that everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving.
We have just received word as to the acceptance by the PRC of the
new postage rates that will take effect in January. Our January
meeting on the 11th, is very important to attend as we will give
you a view of these rates and how they will be affecting us all,
as mailers. You can register for this meeting and others scheduled
at the Long Island Postal Customer Council (LI PCC) website at www.longislandpcc.com.
You should have received the details as to the Dear Santa program.
It is something worthwhile doing as individuals, or as an event
for you to share with your family. Although the program has changed
over the recent years, there are many people who these days are
especially in need, and would appreciate your support.
Our Holiday Party is coming up on Thursday, December 8th at the
Watermill Caterers in Smithtown. Please make sure that you sign
up quickly by visiting the Long Island Postal Customer Council (LI
PCC) website at www.longislandpcc.com
so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. Once again, the
LI PCC will be participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots
Foundation’s campaign. For over 60 years the Marine Corps
have been collecting and distributing donated toys to underprivileged
children across the nation. The Foundation annually collects over
15 million toys though those numbers have waned in recent years
from a high of 20 million. Add to that Marine deployment in the
Middle East and worldwide, so less are available to execute the
campaign. It is more important than ever to lend our support and
collect toys to assist these self-sacrificing men and women. We
will be doing our part by asking our members to bring a new unwrapped
toy (more than 2 is okay) to the party.
Before you know it, it will be time again for the Annual LI PCC
Golf Outing. Plans are being made, so do keep an eye out for information
and let’s see if we can’t out do the last Golf Outing
success.
