Design Distributors Takes Proactive Precautions & Answers Key Questions About Coronavirus

Written by Design Distributors | Mar 6, 2020 3:00:00 PM

As you have seen the increase in media coverage concerning the coronavirus, we want to assure you that we are monitoring the situation. Our focus is both the health and welfare of our employees, as well as the ability to continue providing you the important services that Design Distributors produces for your organization.

DDI recognizes the potential threats associated with the coronavirus and wants you to know that it has precautions in place to guard against these effects on DDI’s ability to continue to deliver its services and finished goods.

We want to answer some of your most pressing questions about the coronavirus in relation to Design Distributors:

How will DDI react if an employee falls victim to the infection?

To the extent that key employees fall victim to actual infection our staffing level is sufficiently deep and cross trained that healthy employees can step into the roles of recovering employees. To the extent that our production staff, those physically operating the machinery printing and preparing your work, fall victim to actual infection we have on-going relationships with at least two vetted temporary staffing agencies which we would rely upon to source replacement factory workers.

What precautions are in place if the plant is quarantined?

DDI sees the coronavirus as a threat of attrition and less of a physical obstruction that would otherwise deny the ability to gain access to our plant and equipment. In the event of excessive attrition brought on by quarantine, our vetted administrative and data processing staff have the ability to continue to securely work remotely.

What plans does DDI have in place in the event the geographical region is quarantined?

To the extent that authorities move to quarantine our geographical region thereby elevating this threat to a physical barrier from accessing our facility please note that DDI has long since established Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning. These plans are updated and tested on an annual basis most recently during February 2020. These plans provide for your campaigns to be manufactured by another mutually partnered entity having their facility located in excess of 250 miles from our Long Island New York facility.

The newly identified form of coronavirus, COVID-19, has caused a recent outbreak in respiratory illness around the world. The situation is ever-evolving and new information is coming out daily. As we continue to monitor this, we will update you on any issues that affect our organization. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Design Distributors directly with further questions.
